Door Prizes

A large RSL club was trying to find a way to get their members to renew their membership on time. They gave everyone who paid on time a draw ticket for a certain night. One member was drawn on the night and if they were in the club, they won a Holden Commodore SS.

Golf Tournaments

SSR have covered hole in one prizes for everything from a local charity event to the richest events on the Australian PGA tour. Austagencies Prize Indemnity can also insure albatrosses & putting competitions.

International Athletic Meet

At a major international 'track meet' a sponsor offered $100,000 if a competitor broke a record in one of the designated events. In the 'long distance' event, one athlete dominated the field, so the prize was offered to increase interest in this particular event. The runner produced a PB time that was only a fraction over the record and excited the crowd beyond the sponsors expectations.

Kick for Goal Competitions

Everyone has seen these half time competitions at soccer, AFL, rugby league and rugby union matches but similar competitions can be structured for basketball and almost any other type of ball game.

Performance Incentives

SSR currently insures a team in a national sports league that have the added incentive of winning $100,000 if they win the competition. These type of prizes can be applied to endless situations, such as a team winning the grand final or and individual player scoring a certain amount of runs / goals in a season.

Pick the Bag

A major West Coast radio station ran a competition where callers had to pick the celebrity behind a laugh. The winner then had the opportunity to pick one bag from one hundred to determine their prize. In one bag was a cheque for $1,000,000 while every other bag had $10,000, SSR protected the larger prize so the client's budget was fixed, regardless of the outcome.

Roll the Dice

A major industry offered the attendees of their annual Gala Dinner, an opportunity to role ten dice for progressive prizes. As the attendees rolled the dice, they were able to take their winnings, or sacrifice part of their prize to go on to win the ultimate prize of $1,000,000. This format has the advantage of lower premiums.
